It has been awhile

Postby Mikado14 » Sun Mar 26, 2017 5:28 pm

It's been quite awhile since I have posted. A good deal has been going on in my life. I have refrained from posting for I figured if I just didn't respond to the vitriolic diatribe from certain individuals, perhaps they would run out of steam. Apparently so, they are not worth what limited energy I have.

First off, my energy limitations have been due to a few medical issues involving my gastrointestinal system along with my lungs. To be a bit more precise, I have nodules which is the new term for tumor. The one has been tested and it is benign. The others, still in the process. I have not been feeling well since about August so, it takes time to get answers, our great medical system. Primary Doctor to specialist and back to Primary and then referred to another and of course, appointments are always months out. As to Kim, she has been having her issues as well. However, a new medicine was approved back in May of last year that is very expensive. She has been on it since Thanksgiving and it has greatly reduced her liver numbers but it does have some side effects that we are dealing with. At least the talk of a liver transplant has gone away for the moment.

Our lives go on and we deal with it.

As to my work, I have been getting good responses for grant funds. I am currently in negotiations with a private group for a two year term for further research. Also, the group is in negotiations with the Federal government. I prefer to go more with the private funding. Both situations are in excess of 200K. This funding is for nothing more than to produce engineering data sets with a POP device only. Who knows how far it will go. The first three funding negotiations didn't go too well over the past three years, actually, there was one each year. There were terms that I did not care for with all three. One must be very careful and read the fine print. I am getting an attorney from now on to deal with it.

We have also made contact with representatives in the Chinese embassy as well as the Isreali embassy. There is interest with both but it has not gone to any negotiation stage.
Research is expensive. I was looking to sell my farm and I had a buyer. I rethought my position. My farm is paid for, the sale price was quite a bit but after talking it over with others, the decision was made to not go through with the sale. I decided to continue talking with a firm I hired from the previous three attempts at funding. There are individuals who have disposable income who are looking to take a tax break but also will reap a reward if the research has results, to the right persons, this is a win-win situation. The firm is out of New York City. I would highly recommend to anyone who wishes to further their research to look into doing the same. These firms can be difficult to find but they are out there. My advice is to begin your search with venture financing firms. The biggest mistake that some individuals make is to say the wrong things. For example, when Brown would go around attempting to raise funds, his biggest fault was to talk about an anti-gravity drive for flying saucers...big mistake. Investors do not want to hear about such nonsense. You present your ideas to show that a Return On Investment (ROI) will be earned for their investment of research funds. This should be a commercial and practical application of the research you are doing.

Another thing that helps with this is that I am not working anymore but have gone back to teaching part-time. Also, I started to build a railroad on the farm, another reason not to sell. This helps to keep me grounded and gives me the time to relax even though it is work.

I am still maintaining the website for the Quonset Hut. I come in and do the maintenance from time to time and it isn't all that too terribly expensive and who knows, it might become more active in the future, or not, but for now, it will stay up.
