Thank you LuisP and Kevin. It isn't often I have a really good day like today so I like to "shout it from the mountain top" lol. Unfortunately, most off switches for pain are pills. And to be totally honest, I am soooo tired of taking them. So I try to avoid them unless absolutely necessary! So today is a really good, pain free, pill free day!! Kim

Pain free days are definitely a cause for celebration. As far as an off switch, the brain does have an off switch. The problem with chronic pain, or pain that's not adequately treated to begin with, resets the switch to being on all the time. I studied a continuing education module on the subject when I was working in pharmacy. Pain is a symptom of a problem. Sometimes the problem can't be fixed. Nerve damage causes chronic pain. Anyway, celebrate away Kim. Here's to having more good days than bad.

Thanks Cat. Today wasn't as pain free as yesterday but it was still a good day! I am starting to think my brain came without the off switch lol. Pain is definitely a symptom of the condition I have but I try to deal with it without drugs as much as I can. I have a wonderful Dr. who I adore for all the normal things I have to deal with. Unfortunately my specialist ( who I loved, he took time with me, explained everything to me in terms I understood, and had the best bed side manner) has retired this past month so I have to get another one. And I know you can probably understand how hard that can be. But I got a referral today so I begin again. I just hope he is as good as my last specialists. Fingers crossed!!
But I am still going to celebrate an almost pain free day. Kim

I think your brain still has the off switch, it's just that with chronic pain, your baseline resets to being in pain. Pain Is the New Normal. Orange Is the New Black. And the abuse of prescription painkillers makes it difficult to get adequate treatment for pain sometimes. But we persevere.

That Linda has stated........
She will "toss off any agent provocateurs entering the cosmic token"

It may be that they will be queing at the door,or not, if they are British especially.
See British slang for toss off.
Made Me laugh.

Sorry, please don't toss Me off this site, as Linda ( blind dog myles )
arranged.
IT is not a very complimentary thing to call anyone here....a tosser, and I have been close to reffering to some posters as such.
So one has to be carefull with these saying across borders

Well kevin, not only do you have Myles the dog posting but it would appear that the horse has been posting.....Bogie.

So, we have one of her Yorkies posting and throwing off members and we have the horse in the corral posting. She apparently, honestly believes that individuals are stupid and that she is that slick.

I pray for her to what ever deity will listen.

I was fine with Mr Ed the talking horse, but bogie the typing horse presents a challenge.
That is the size of the keyboard???????
Those horses have big hoofs.

We could of course be overlooking the obvious....because....
bogie may indeed be a talking horse.
then of course...because it could never type Linda would have to type for it, as with the blue bottle.
She may be able to talk with the animals, walk with the animals.
